When you are recovering from surgery there is nothing like having personal care, one on one attention and someone that is knowledgeable and caring. I have been going to Sonja, owner and operator of Mountain2City physical therapy, for about a month and have seen steady improvement in my balance and my Cartiva implants in my right great toe. I have been to many other PTs and was mostly put on machines, left with heat and or ice, mostly left on my own, given a video or list of exercises and sent home. Not my experience with Sonja, she makes sure I understand the exercises I do at home and shows me how to do them correctly and what to watch for when I am not doing them to my best advantage. I highly recommend Mountain2City. It is fun to watch myself improve every session.  Brenda Mc-T

Four days following total hip replacement surgery this past February, I started outpatient physical therapy at Mountain2City Physical Therapy in Edmonds, Washington. The owner, Sonja Serwold, was fantastic to work with: knowledgeable, professional, competent and empathetic. As anyone who’s been through a major joint replacement knows, the early phase of recovery is quite
challenging. It was easy to communicate with Sonja, and she continually adjusted her treatment and my exercise regimen to match my progress, pushing me carefully to full recovery. A major emphasis area in her treatment was focused proprioception exercises to help me regain awareness of the new kinds of feedback I was getting from an artificial joint. Early in my treatment she even
took the trouble to meet my wife at our local fitness center to identify machines and exercises that would be appropriate for me. An added bonus: I never experienced a single insurance or billing issue with Mountain2City. I highly recommend Mountain2City and Sonja to anyone in need of expert, professional physical therapy.  – John L

Sonja is a “hands on” therapist and spends the entire hour with me, which I so appreciate.  When I arrive she asks how I am, showing interest in my activities, but more than that, she’s listening carefully as I talk. She weighs and considers what I say, what’s been painful or what’s been good, and she then evaluates how she can help me that day and how she can incorporate new exercises into my home routines that build upon what I already do. She is extremely knowledgeable and well-educated and I have complete confidence in her as she explains what areas need attention and why. Her advice is always useful, practical and effective. My painful shoulder and arm feel 99 % better since I have been working with Sonja!  I’m stronger and more acutely aware of what I need to do as I continue on my own. She’s the best, really the best, and I am forever grateful that she has been my physical therapist. – Marcia H
